General

What is ToolHive? +
ToolHive is a B2B marketplace built specifically for the oil and gas industrial equipment sector in Saudi Arabia. We connect buyers directly with verified suppliers so they can browse equipment catalogs, request quotes, compare products, and close deals โ€” all in one place.
Is ToolHive free to use? +
Yes. Creating an account, browsing products, requesting quotes, and messaging suppliers are all completely free for buyers. Suppliers can also register, create their company profile, and list products at no cost. ToolHive does not charge commissions on transactions.
Who can use ToolHive? +
ToolHive is designed for procurement professionals, project managers, and equipment buyers in the oil and gas industry, as well as manufacturers, distributors, and service providers who supply industrial tools and equipment. Anyone with a valid business email can register.
What types of equipment can I find on ToolHive? +
Our categories include Drilling equipment, Wireline tools, Cementing products, Coiled Tubing, Well Testing gear, Pressure Pumping equipment, Safety products, Oilfield Services, Tool Storage, and more. Suppliers list everything from flanges and pipes to safety helmets and fracturing pumps.

For Buyers

How do I request a quote (RFQ)? +
There are two ways. First, you can click the "Quote" button on any product page to send a direct RFQ to that supplier. Second, you can use the "RFQ Broadcast" feature to send one request to multiple suppliers at once โ€” they'll each respond with their best offer, and you can compare them side by side.
How does the messaging system work? +
Once you send a quote request, a chat thread opens between you and the supplier. You can exchange messages, share files (PDFs, images, spec sheets), and negotiate directly. Messages update in real-time without refreshing the page. Both parties can view the full conversation history at any time.
How do I compare products? +
Click the compare icon (the scale symbol) on any product card. Once you've added two or more products, go to the Compare page to see a side-by-side comparison of specifications, pricing, conditions, and supplier details.
Can I see a supplier's contact information? +
Supplier contact details (email, phone, contact person) are visible after you send at least one RFQ to that supplier. This protects suppliers from spam while ensuring serious buyers have full access. Company name, product catalog, and certifications are always visible to everyone.
What does "Price on Request" (POA) mean? +
Some products are priced based on quantity, specifications, or market conditions. "Price on Request" means you need to send the supplier a quote request with your requirements, and they'll respond with a custom price. This is common for bulk orders and specialized industrial equipment.
What is the Wishlist feature? +
The Wishlist lets you save products you're interested in for later. Click the heart icon on any product card to add it. You can access your full wishlist from the navigation bar or your dashboard.

For Sellers / Suppliers

How do I list my products? +
After registering as a seller, go to your Seller Dashboard and click "Post Tool" in the navigation. Fill in the product details including title, category, description, specifications, pricing, images, and documents. You can save as a draft or publish immediately. For large catalogs, use the Bulk Upload feature to import products via CSV file.
How does Bulk Upload work? +
Go to Seller Dashboard and click "Bulk Upload." Download the CSV template, fill in your product data (title, category, price, specifications, etc.), and upload the file. The system validates each row and imports valid products. You can choose "strict mode" (rejects all if any errors) or "tolerant mode" (imports valid rows and skips errors).
How do I get verified as a supplier? +
From your Seller Dashboard, go to "Verification" and upload your business documents (commercial registration, tax ID, business license). Our team reviews submissions and verifies your account. Verified suppliers get a trust badge on their profile, which increases buyer confidence and inquiry rates.
Can I add certifications to my profile? +
Yes. Go to Seller Dashboard and click "Certifications." You can upload ISO certificates, quality accreditations, safety certifications, and any other relevant documents. These are displayed on your public profile with validity dates โ€” expired certifications are automatically flagged.
How do I respond to quote requests? +
When a buyer sends a quote request, you'll receive a notification (in-app and email). Go to your Messages page and click on the conversation. You can accept, reject, or negotiate by chatting directly with the buyer. When you reach an agreement, use "Finalize Deal" to record the transaction.
Does ToolHive take a commission on deals? +
No. ToolHive currently does not charge any commission on transactions. The platform is free for both buyers and sellers. Deals are finalized directly between the two parties.
Can I see analytics for my products? +
Yes. The Seller Analytics dashboard shows your inquiry count, product performance, revenue tracking, and historical trends. You can filter by date range to see how your listings are performing over time.

Account & Security

How do I create an account? +
Click "Sign Up" in the top navigation. Choose whether you're a buyer or a seller, fill in your details, complete the CAPTCHA, and submit. You can start browsing immediately. Sellers can begin listing products right after registration.
Is two-factor authentication available? +
Yes. Go to your Account Settings and enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). You'll receive a verification code via email each time you log in. This adds an extra layer of security to your account, which is especially important for seller accounts managing business transactions.
Will I be logged out automatically? +
Yes. For security, your session expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. If you're idle for too long, you'll be redirected to the login page. This protects your account if you forget to log out on a shared computer.
